• International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA)
  This organization is the “global voice of the library and information profession”. It serves to promote high standards of service within the profession of librarianship and endorses the “principles of freedom of access to information”.

• American Library Association (ALA) - International Relations Roundtable
  This group serves to “promote interest in library issues and librarianship worldwide”. It acts to assist in facilitating international activities and programs within ALA and liaise between members interested in international relations.

• Special Libraries Association (SLA) - International Relations Section
  This is a forum for SLA members interested in international aspects of librarianship and information exchange to share ideas, develop programs and “strengthen ties among librarians and professionals worldwide”.

• CILIP - International Library and Information Group
  Part of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP), the International Library and Information Group is involved in encouraging librarians to engage in the international aspects of librarianship. They are involved in “developing information-sharing and other activities within the international community and provid[ing] information from which the Group, CILIP, and others can create policy”.

• IBBY - International Board on Books for Young People
  IBBY is a group committed to children’s literature and reading development all over the world. They organize seminars and workshops for illustrators, writers, translators and editors designed to help improve their skills and increase cooperation. As well as these activities they are involved in projects in developing countries and host regular conferences.
